A Gated Golf-Course Community on Lake Tapps
Tapps Island is a small, gated, lakefront community on Lake Tapps — golf course, marina, water-view homes, and the kind of HOA-managed amenities that distinguish it from the broader Lake Tapps area around it. Tight-knit, established, and a little particular about which trucks come through the gate.
About Tapps Island
Tapps Island is a private, gated, resort-style community on the east side of Lake Tapps. It’s actually a cluster of five interconnected small islands (four developed) linked by vehicle and pedestrian bridges across water channels. All residents belong to the Tapps Island Association — guarded entry, CC&Rs, and assessments apply. The mix is waterfront homes, golf-course-frontage lots, and inland properties.
Amenities include a public 9-hole golf course, the Lakeside Grill restaurant and clubhouse, private waterfront parks, boat launches and docks, a swimming pool, tennis and paddle courts, and walking trails. Attracts a mix of established families, lake-lifestyle buyers, and retirees; Mount Rainier and lake views are core to the identity. Higher price point and HOA-heavy compared to other Lake Tapps neighborhoods.
Hoss in Tapps Island
We work with the gate and the HOA. Tapps Island has commercial-vehicle rules we follow on every job — call ahead, get the address registered with the gate, work the schedule the HOA accommodates.
Most common Tapps Island jobs:
- Hot tub removal — lots of hot tubs on Lake Tapps, lots that quit working at some point
- Estate cleanouts — established residents, multi-generational possessions
- Dock / yard debris — pressure-treated lumber, old floats, kayak racks
- Single-item pickups — careful, on-time
Flat-rate posted Hoss pricing — see the pricing section. Dumpster drops require HOA approval; junk hauling is often the simpler fit.
