Auburn’s housing stock is mixed — older homes in downtown and West Hill, plus the newer construction in Lakeland Hills and the surrounding subdivisions. Homeowners across both sides are renovating, and we see the debris.
Here’s what we’re hauling out of Auburn renovations in 2026.
1. Kitchen Refresh (Mid-Range, Not Full Gut)
Most popular renovation we see. Not full gut-jobs — just cabinets refaced or replaced, new counters, new appliances, sometimes a backsplash update. The debris pile: old cabinets (heavy if real wood), the dead appliances, packaging from the new ones, old backsplash tile.
Typical haul: 1-2 quarter-truck loads or a half-truck.
2. Bathroom Remodel
A close second. Tub-to-shower conversion is the most common single project. Old vanity, old toilet, old tub, broken tile, demo drywall.
Typical haul: Half-truck.
3. Flooring Replacement
Carpet-to-LVP is the big trend in Auburn 2026 — Auburn’s wet climate is brutal on carpet, especially with kids and dogs. New LVP/vinyl plank goes in; old carpet comes out.
Typical haul: Quarter-truck for a few rooms; half-truck for a whole house.
4. Deck Refresh or Replacement
PNW winters destroy decks. Composite or treated lumber are the two replacement options. Old deck demo + new build = lots of waste.
Typical haul: 14-yard dumpster (flat-rate 5-day rental) for the demo phase.
5. Garage Conversion / Workspace
Folks turning the third garage stall into a home gym, workshop, or office. Lots of “out with the old garage clutter, in with the new built-ins.”
Typical haul: Half to full truck of cleared-out garage contents.
6. New Construction in Lakeland Hills
Not technically renovation, but adjacent. Move-in debris, leftover construction materials, packaging — all common haul calls in Lakeland Hills as new owners settle in.
