Junk Removal FAQs
Do you offer same-day hauling? Yes — same-day pickup is often available across Tacoma, Lakewood, Auburn, Federal Way, Puyallup, South Hill, and the rest of Pierce County. The closer you call to morning, the more likely we can route a truck that afternoon. Outside the Pierce County core (east toward Buckley, south past Graham) we recommend booking a day ahead.
Do I need to be home for you to haul away my junk? No. As long as we can get to the junk and have a clear plan, we can haul it without you being there. Common for rental turnovers, out-of-state estate situations, or anyone with a busy work schedule. We document everything with photos so you know the job’s done.
Can you pick up and haul away just one item? Absolutely. Single-item pickups are part of the menu — a single mattress, a single appliance, one sectional. Single-item pricing starts at the posted rate.
Is Hoss Junk Removal insured? Yes. We’re fully licensed and insured. Insurance certificates available on request for property managers and commercial clients.
Do you remove stuff from inside homes or businesses? Yes. We do “indoor” pickups — second-floor furniture, basement appliances, garage gear, the whole property. Straps come with, dollies, and the right number of guys for the job.
What types of payment do you accept? Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, and cash. Pay after the job is complete — never before.
Do you offer after-hours or Sunday hauling? Standard hours are Mon-Sat 8am-7pm. We’re closed Sundays. For commercial clients we can arrange after-hours by special request.
How does pricing work? Volume-based: starts at the posted rate, for a full truck (12′ × 7′ × 4.5′). Disposal starts at the disposal rate on overages. Quoted up front by call, text-photo, or online before we ever load anything. No surprises on the receipt.
Why does truck size matter? A bigger truck means fewer trips, which means lower pricing for you. Our 12′ × 7′ × 4.5′ truck handles most residential cleanouts in a single load — that’s the savings.
What happens to the items you pick up? Sortable items head to responsible disposal channels. Scrap metal goes to local recyclers. E-waste goes to certified handlers. Only the unsalvageable hits the landfill.
Can you haul away hazardous waste or chemicals? No. We don’t handle paint, motor oil, propane tanks, batteries, asbestos, medical waste, or any other regulated hazardous material. Pierce County has drop-off programs for most of these — we can point you to the right resource.
Why should I choose Hoss? locally run, posted flat-rate pricing, same-day pickup, licensed and insured, 5.0-rated. The truck that shows up has a Pierce County crew on it. Owner David White picks the team personally.
Dumpster Rental FAQs
What is a roll-off dumpster? A roll-off dumpster is a large container delivered to your property on a flatbed truck. Once dropped, you fill it on your timeline; we come back and haul it away. Standard rental is 5 days.
How do dumpster rentals work? Pick a size, pick a delivery date, we drop the bin on your driveway. You fill it on your schedule. After 5 days (or whenever you tell us it’s ready), we come back and haul it.
Which size dumpster should I get? Flat-rate posted Hoss pricing — see the pricing section.
If you’re not sure, call us. We’ve gotten pretty good at sizing the project based on a description.
Do I need a larger dumpster? Not usually. The 20-yard handles most residential jobs people think they need a 30 for. For anything legitimately bigger, we can refer you to a partner.
Roofing dumpster? Yes — the 14-yard handles most residential roofing tear-offs. Heavy shingles count toward the included weight, so factor that in when sizing.
30-yard dumpster? We don’t currently stock 30-yard bins — our footprint is 14 and 20-yard. For larger jobs we can refer you.
Is drop-off and pickup included in the rental price? Yes. Posted prices include drop-off, 5 days of rental, and pickup.
Does it cost anything to remove the dumpster? No. Pickup is included in the rental price.
How long can I keep a roll-off dumpster? Standard rental is 5 days. Need longer? Call us — extended rentals are available with daily rates.
What can I put in a dumpster? Almost any household / construction debris: furniture, appliances, demolition materials, yard debris, packaging. Excluded: hazardous waste (paint, oil, batteries, propane), tires, mattresses in some cases (call to confirm), and medical waste.
Do dumpsters have doors? Yes — our roll-offs have rear swing-doors so you can walk heavy items in instead of trying to heave them over the side.
How do I protect my driveway? We use boards under the wheels. Damage on standard residential concrete or asphalt driveways is rare; we’ve done thousands of drops without an issue.
How can I stop someone from using my dumpster? The bin is on your property; you control access. If you’re worried about neighbors quietly tossing things into your dumpster, a tarp or a “no dumping” sign usually does the trick.
